			    THEY DIE BUT THEYDON'T
 |
THEY DIE BUT THEY DON'Tthey walk in our shoes
they hide in the thoughts we have
 it's hard to believe,
 but they do

They'll speak in your voiceand you'll think it's your own
 and years later
 you'll blame it on fate
when your living unloved and alone

I thought I left mine behind metwenty years ago
I thought the way ahead was clear
 little did I know

there was a vise around my lifethat never let me go
and there's no place to run or hide
 THEY DIE BUT THEY DON'T

I walk through this lifejust like anyone else
but the damage is hidden from view
you know it's even hidden from ourselves

When I left them behindI had the world in my hand
I had the dreams all young men have
 and so I couldn't understand

this grip upon my lifethat never let go
and there's no place to run or hide
 THEY DIE BUT THEY DON'T
